The “Daddy Makeover”

The “Daddy Makeover” and Gynecomastia

By now, most people have heard of the popular women’s cosmetic procedure referred to as the “Mommy Makeover.”  As women struggle to get their pre-pregnancy bodies back into shape, many opt for elective surgery. The surgery includes a tummy tuck, liposuction, and breast surgery such as; breast augmentation perhaps with a breast lift or in some cases a breast reduction.

Not to be outdone, men are now seeking similar cosmetic procedures that will restore their youth from their middle age spread. Many men have discovered how difficult it may be to reduce their abdomen by diet and exercise. Worse, if they have male breasts, which many men develop as they age, they find that there is no amount of diet and exercise that can reduce breast tissue once it has formed.

Each year the number of men that has male breast reduction surgery increases. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported an increase of 11% last year.

As gynecomastia surgery becomes more and more popular, men are discovering it is relatively easy to add liposuction of the abdomen and love handles to give them a body they just haven’t been able to achieve at the gym.

The patient satisfaction of these combinations of procedures has put it right up there with the popularity of women’s “Mommy Makeover” and thus has been dubbed the “Daddy Makeover.”
